6th Period

Wednesday 2/24/16

It’s our fifth day of work and the class is eager to get the TV Show filmed on time. Time seems to fly every 6th period.

“3, 2, 1, Action!”
The camera starts rolling and two actors dressed in ridiculous costumes walk onto the stage. They seem to be going along smoothly, but already, our host Dr. Dusty (Chase P.) complains about the size of the the script lines.
“Cut!” an angry CEO Chris yells.
One mistake rewinds the whole act. Frustration fills through the room.

The camera’s batteries need to be replaced as they died out, the stage needs to be readjusted, and everything needs to be redone. With less than half an hour left to film, the crew stubbornly holds back their anger, impatiently waiting for the cameras to be rolling once again.

The actors get through the act, but when the video is played out loud it is clear that the actors need to speak up. Everyone chips in their advice to the actors and the whole act is refilmed.

Thankfully, the next act goes much more smoothly. Sam H. and Chris K. star as Pablo and Pele, two victims of a coconut incident. More eye contact and more natural tones of voice are exhibited.

Just when things seem to be coming together, the actors realize that the script has been messed up. The class laughs as students suggest adding humour into the script.

The class is optimistic about the future of the show.
