It’s our second day of work, and the class is buzzing with energy.

The production team has no time to waste. The main set is nearly complete, no longer a simple green curtain. Now, it appears to be more than the back of a messy classroom (thanks Mr. Miller!). The set now contains the luxury of a single red chair, two swivel chairs, and a coffee table. Soon, it will look just like a set of a real talk show, which is a simple goal for us to achieve. But for now, the power is in our actors!

Our actors are practicing their lines with pages held closely to their faces. The class laughs as the actors stumble over their alien lines rather than laughing when the “audience” is cued. The whole class agrees - the actors need to add more expression in their voice! But that won’t be happening until they memorize their lines. The pressure is on.

The class can’t help but crack up at the Cinderella Commercial. Our young actor, Brian M., stars as Cinderella. You can imagine what a scene that makes. “Wear the dress!” the class cries.

The uneasy actors are still talking in robotic voices. No sign of expression yet. But with enough practice, our production will soon come to life.

Actors, recorders, cue cards galore!

Our actors are hard at work!
